Bible Study

“Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18

Starting Point

Sundays at 9:05 am

Music Room 215

Questions about the Bible? New to the Christian faith? Has it been more than five years since you’ve attended Starting Point? Pastor Krause will begin a new Starting Point class which covers the main teachings of the Bible and gives clear answers to life’s biggest problems and questions. The atmosphere is relaxed and questions are encouraged. If you have any questions, talk to Pastor Krause – skrause@stpaulsonalaska.org

Great Gospel Events in the Lives of Elijah and Elisha

Sundays at 9:05 am

Fellowship Hall

Our main Sunday morning class will look at the lives of two great Old Testament prophets Elijah and Elisha. We’ll cover some of the well-known and lesser-known amazing events that happened in their lives. Even though they lived a long time ago, we’ll see they faced many of the same problems we deal with and how the Lord is faithful to all his promises.

Starting Point 3.0: The Life of Jesus - NEW CLASS!

Wednesdays at 6:00 pm

Grace Chapel

We had a great response to our Starting Point 2.0 class, so we’ve decided to offer Starting Point 3.0! This class will cover the life of Jesus in the Gospels. We’ll be looking at the key events in Jesus’ life – his birth, his ministry, his death and resurrection, and really focus on how all of human history and our own futures hinge on this one person. The class will begin January 8 at 6:00 pm and will go for about 8 weeks (we’ll end right before Lent). Pastor Olson will lead this group. Childcare will be provided.

Studying the Sermon

Wednesdays at 9:00 am

Fireside Room

Our Wednesday 9 am group will be studying and discussing the sermon lesson from the previous weekend. We’ll be able to dive into the sermon lesson a little more deeply than what we can do on Sunday mornings and gain some additional insights into God’s Word.

Location varies

We have a group of folks in their 20s-30s who meet periodically (usually weekly) to study a book or a section of the Bible. The days/times sometimes change due to scheduling conflicts. Right now, they’re studying a book called The Reason for God and talking about how to address objections people have with Christianity. If interested in attending, please reach out to Blake Sorenson: bsorenson4244@gmail.com.
